Ceramic necklace
Ceramic necklace
Sterling silver and ceramic shards necklace.
I went with friends to a beach in North Kent to look for pieces of old pottery they had told me could be found there.
The origin of these pieces seems to date from a long time ago and up to the first world war when rubbish from London was used as ballast for barges transporting bricks.
The rubbish was dumped in exchange for bricks that were made in the area. Now the area is a treasure trove of pieces of pottery from a bygone era.
After a while, my ceramic shard collection emerged from these pieces. This necklace was a commission from the friends who introduced me to the beach and its treasure.
